Passing Me By
One day I’m afraid to find
That vanity was all in vain
And if I leave my past behind
It will still not make me sane
A need exists to make my mind
And from apathy abstain
For on the fabric of mankind
I won’t even leave a stain
Seeing life living a lie…
Watching all that surrounds me die
Now it’s just Passing Me By
And God knows I didn’t try
Conceiving things I’ll never know
Imagination left unguarded
To lack the drive I need to grow
Will end all that I have started
Seeing life in a haste…
Watching old friends go to waste
While I just take up space
With all the things I cannot face
I fear the nightmares may come true
Revealing my life squandered
The dreams I never did pursue
And my ambitions, only pondered
Seeing life living a lie…
Watching all that surrounds me die
Now it’s just Passing Me By
And God knows I didn’t try
Seeing life in a haste…
Watching old friends go to waste
While I just take up space
With all the things I cannot face
Only to leave without a trace…
